We have had an average sized video camera since Christmas, but have seriously got it out twice. There's so many buttons we don't know how to use, and it's a bit too bulky to lug around everywhere. We have enough stuff already that we bring everywhere because of the baby, so I'm not going to carry a heavy camcorder around too!

My new baby nephew arrived June 20th and I was able to film his debut:

Isn't he a doll...so strong with his head already. What a wonderful thing that I got to capture this moment with him and not have to carry a huge heavy camcorder into the hospital with me.

My mom wanted to see the video clip right after I shot it (of course) and I never imagined how easy that was going to be. On our old camcorder you had to rewind the footage and hope to goodness you stopped at the beginning of the shot you wanted to play. With the Flip life is much easier when wanting to playback footage. All you have to do is click the left or right arrow buttons and it breaks up the different recordings for you...decide which clip you want to see and press play. WAAAAALA! So after all mom did get to watch the baby footage over and over and over again on the 2" no-glare screen. Awesomeness.

When I uploaded this video (above) to YouTube today, it seriously took 2 minutes. I am not computer savvy AT ALL, if I can do it ANYONE can. I have had the iPhone for awhile and am stoked that there's even a free Flipshare app for the iPhone so you can enjoy videos on-the-go!

If you are worried about the whole charging the battery situation, don't! Flips come with a rechargeable battery pack that can easily be recharged through the camera's built-in USB arm. Or you can purchase a separate power adaptor like I did. It's just my preference.
